Cake and Uniform Sales - Autumn Term
Each month a class/combination of classes host the School Cake and Uniform Sale. Usually outside the school / church the tables are set up around 3pm on the sale day.
Cakes etc
The parents of the host class(es) bring cupcakes, biscuits, flapjack, traybakes along which are (mostly cut up into individual portions) then sold to the parents and children as they come out of school. Part of this exercise is to get the children used to handling money - adding up, receiving change. Therefore, the price of the individual cakes is deliberately childfriendly. Whole cakes can be sold to parents for a more commercial price! "As well as helping on the day when it is your child's class's turn we are hoping the cookery books will get a quick dusting, family favourites will be revisited or failing all else a quick visit to the aisles of the supermarket or friendly baker will be possible. It's yummy, we love it, the kids love it and if you would rather be jollying the homework along instead please remember baking is chemistry after all." Karin Stark Class 3 Rep. Preloved Uniform
Outgrown uniform can be taken into school at any time and left in a bag marked for the attention of Wendy Wyver. Wendy has organised that herself and a group of her helpers sort, wash and fold the donated items. These prepared items of clothing are then sold at the same time as the cakes.
