What is an Auction of Promises?
FOSMAS would like to invite you to an "Auction of Promises" on Thursday, 3 April at 7:30 in the St Mary Abbots School hall and online. Promises from parents, students, teachers and staff will be auctioned to raise money for the school. Do you have something you could offer? Promises don't have to come just from parents. It would be great to involve extended family - is granny a great knitter, or your best friend an artist who would paint a portrait? Promises should be submitted by 14 March to meet deadlines for catalogue printing, etc. Please send promises to your FOSMAS class rep or email to [email protected]. What will happen on the evening?
The live auction evening will include drinks, dinner, and auction, and is open to FOSMAS members. Tickets for the live auction evening include one drink, dinner, and auction catalogue, and will be sold outside the school gates the week before the event and at the door. Tickets are limited due to space. What about the online auction? The online auction will begin on the evening of the live auction and continue for one week. It can be accessed at http://tinyurl.com/SMASILENTAUCTION and is open to anyone - please let your friends and family know! How will the money we raise be used? Our KS2 students are envious of the fantastic new KS1playground! While not as major a refit, the KS2 playground could use some new benches and other sprucing up. From the funds raised by the auction, the first £5,000 will go towards a revamp of the KS2 playground. Of any additional funds raised, £1,000 will go for the core FOSMAS funded activities - school trips, educational visitors, workshops, etc. Any remainder will go towards an uplift of KS2 classrooms, including lockers, etc. |
