Spring Term

THE FOSMAS QUIZ NIGHT
Tuesday, 23 January 2018 in St Mary Abbots School Hall
This event takes place on a week day evening early in the Spring Term, in the school hall. Teachers and friends make up teams of 8 to pit their wits against the Quizmaster.  The questions are divided into various topics, eg film, sport, current affairs, celebrity gossip etc, so there should be something for everyone.  You bring your own picnic suppers to share (organised by the table host), knives, forks and plates to share, pencils/pens and we provide your glasses and drinks to fill them at our FOSMAS "donations bar" where we  have specially selected fine wines, beer and soft drinks…..all proceeds to FOSMAS.  This is a great social event, and gives us the chance to ‘eat, drink and be merry’ away from the school gate.
This event is ticketed, a suggested donation (£10 in 2017) per entrant - coordinated by the table host.

FOSMAS AUCTION OF PROMISES
Wednesday 28 February 2018 in St Mary Abbots School Hall.
Arrive at  7.30 for a drink, a mingle and a chance to peruse the auction catalogue before you take your seat at your table ready for the auction to kick off at 8.30pm sharp.  Two sets of lots with a break in the middle.  Anticipated to end around 10.30pm. We are running a silent (internet based) auction alongside this event from 26 February to 4 March - handy for those of you unable to attend on the night.
This event is ticketed (£15) per entrant to cover costs.

THE SUMMER FAIR
This event is an all day event which takes place on a Saturday in July.  Come and enjoy a traditional summer fair, with BBQ, Auction, Pimms Tent, Tea and Cakes, Toy stalls, Coconut shy, and so much more!  Maybe you could volunteer to help set up or clear up? Or have a new stall idea?  We also need volunteers to host/co-host one of the following stalls;  Coconut Shy, Doughnuts stall, Hook-a-Duck, Drop-the-Spud, Bric-a-Brac, Lucky Dip, War hammer / Lego stall, fortune-telling, and a soothing storytelling/craft tent for younger children

A major fundraising element of the Summer Fete is our Auction of really amazing "high-end" items and promises.  Is there anything you can think of to donate?  We're on the lookout for prizes for our children and adult raffle and auction.   In the past we’ve had donations of designer handbags, beauty products, vouchers for a spa or a meal in a restaurant etc . These are often things that people can get from their workplace or from friends and family members.  You might also have a skill you’d like to raffle or auction... for example cooking a dinner party, baking a cake, hosting a children’s party or babysitting etc.    It doesn’t matter how big or small it is.  Please just get in touch if you can think of anything you could give.

Autumn Term

RECEPTION WELCOME DRINKS

This event is held at the School and takes place on a midweek evening two/three weeks into the beginning of the new term.

This is a really great opportunity for the parents of the new Reception children to meet the teachers and the parents from the rest of the Infants School.  Have a chat over a glass of wine and nibbles.  Learn about the school, about FOSMAS and get to know faces to put to names.

Drinks and nibbles are served, and there is no charge/ticket to attend this event.

FOSMAS AGM and KICKOFF MEETING

This event is held at the School and takes place on a midweek evening a month into the new term.
Our financial year now runs alongside the academic year - September to August. The FOSMAS committee will present a reveiw of the past fundraising year, the final accounts and report new fundraising targets and initiatives.  Mrs Doyle will be present to review the last years purchases made with FOSMAS funds and to present her wish list for the new year.  So - New term, new fundraising target and wish list of items to buy/projects that need our fundraising help.  Come along and kick start the new fundraising year, chat with the parents and FOSMAS committee members over a glass of wine.  If you have always meant to come and never got round to it - why not make this year the year you decide to get more involved.  We are totally flexible on our requirements - even a one off offer, or maybe you have  a new fundraising idea - that would be great.
Drinks and nibbles are served, and there is no charge/ticket to attend this event.

INTERNATIONAL DINNER

This event is held at the School and takes place on a midweek evening six weeks into the new term.
This is a really lovely evening! A welcome (back) to the school for all parents and teachers.  Each person/family picks a course to bring - either canapes, main or pudding, which can be from a country connected with your family.  All dishes are put together in their courses, and kept piping hot.  It is a fabulous opportunity to taste a wide variety of foods, enjoy a glass of wine (drinks donations bar) and chat to other parents and teachers.

Report from last year's event "Approx 120 teachers, parents and governors enjoyed a really lovely evening in the School Hall, which was transformed to host a deliciously diverse and entertaining dining experience.  SO MANY DELICIOUS dishes were brought and shared.
This event is ticketed (with registration and course selection) with a suggested donation of around £5 per person._
